Thomson Holidays tune

Post by Jules »

Hi folks, I love the tune to the thomson holiday adverts, you know the dreamy 50's type one with the flamigos lol. It starts with smooth violins then goes into a kind of pizzicato, there is another advert with a simular soundtrack, can't blinking remember now  any ideas what type of music this is or the artists? Its doing me head in.

just thought, "are you being served" has a simular violin sound

cheers

Found out that the Music was written by English Composers Colin Smith and Simon Elms. It was a special compositon, and you cant get it anywhere ! ?

Yep, it was a specially commissioned piece by Thomson as performed by Amber Music. They used to let you download the track from the Thomson website although it's only about 30 secs long - not sure if it's still downloadable.

If you want something similar sounding, try 'Lujon' by Henry Mancini
