Hi Folks,
Quick question I was just wondering if anyone knows the tune to the aforementioned advert. Sounds a little like Portishead, so will be going to go through their itunes catalogue and hope 30secs of each tune is enough to find it if anyone could save me the hassle though it would be most appreciated.
Many thanks,
Jode

eh up,
Turns out it's... 'Dirge' by Death in Vegas.
Despite hearing it years ago that's the first time ive heard of either the song title, and group.
Just downloaded it from Itunes, well worth 79p.
Cheers!

I have thrilling extra information for you - it's off the album 'The Contino Sessions' and the vocalist is Dot Allison, now a techno solo thingummybob, but originally the singer of the early 90s band One Dove (featuring lots of the influence of producer Andrew Weatherall). Dirge was released as a single, retitled 'Dirge #2' and had apparently ripped off something else, which was reflected in the mass of extra writing credits on the sleeve. Can't remember what though.

Storageheater, thankyou for the info. I've heard of Dot Allison, but not sure in what context, maybe done some vocals on oakenfold mixes?
Not sure what to make of the rest of Contino, although 30secs isnt really enough so may just bite the bullet and buy the rest of the album, the tracks seem to veer all over the road so sure they'll be some good ones.
OnlyMe, that's good news indeed. Even though it wasn't them it reminds me I really should dust off my portishead album once in a while.
Cheers, Jode

I dont know - she probably has - she's also done vocals for Slam and...well, there's an entry on her on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dot_Allison). The Death In Vegas album features vocals from Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie and The Jesus and Mary Chain's Jim Reid, and a fabulous one featuring Iggy Pop. It's a good album but it isn't the easiest thing in the world to listen to, perhaps because it has a few too many directions and vocalists.
