Apologies again for the wrong forum (and the duplication), and for the ridiculously stoopid longshot, but if anyone knows this, it might be one of you lots (who I love and believe it btw ). Here goes;
Does anyone know the eerily wonky piano piece played on Robert Lindsay's Who Do You Think You Are on BBC2 last night. It played (briefly) about twenty minutes from the end, just after he said goodbye to his dad, and headed for the National Archive to look up some stuff about a sailor (haven't we all ).
Any help would be greeted with over-enthusiastic appreciation and several of these;

PS - Incidentally, who does Robert Lindsay think he is? He hasn't done a decent thing since G.B.H. Who's next? Wincey Willis?
I'm sorry to say that although I watched it, and clearly remember the bit you mean ('cause Lindsay comments on his Dads' peculier way of saying goodbye!), I can't remember the piece of music you want.
Although, when you say 'eerily wonky' the only piece of piano music that I would describe in the same way, is the end credit music on 'Extras'.
So, an extremely long shot (and I will be amazed if I am on the money with this), but could it be 'Tea for the Tillerman' by Cat Stevens?
Hi Jayemm, I dont' think it's that, but cheers for having a go. I know it was a complete longshot, so your efforts are well appreciated.
The tune sounded wonky just because the note progression was so strange, coupled with the fact that it had a kind of distortion in the background (akin to the beginning of Peace Orchestra's 'Shining').
The only artist I can think of with similar strange pianoness is Lunz. Maybe I'll start there. I'd just really like to find out what it is, hear a bit more of it, and then buy it and have a good old mix with it!!
Hey Toastie, I'm pretty sure it's not 'Triumphant', but I did check it out and it sounded pretty sweet. I may have to start revising my opinion of Royksopp. I've heard a couple of belters from them now.
